Terms and Conditions

Terms and Conditions

Terms and Conditions to performing in the Nottingham Comedy Festival 2024.

1. Deadline to submit your show for the 2024 Festival is  Monday 17th June. Applications received after this time will not be guaranteed entry into the Festival listings.
2. Once your application has been received you will be invoiced for £42 per show. (VAT not applicable) Any applications or fees that are late may be subject to a small additional cost.  If you are performing the same show multiple times then each additional performance will be subject to an admin fee of £30. Invoices will be emailed across once your show submission has been received.
3. There is no limit to how many words can be in your show copy.
4. If you use what could be seen as offensive wording in your show title or copy we will edit this by using *’s or delete where we find appropriate.  We will not add or change words in any other way. This is at the Festival’s discretion.
5. If you want to update your image or writing please do this by 17th June. After this date we will only update the website’s information – we will however do this at any stage.
6. We will promote the Festival as a whole through listing leaflets, posters, press releases, social media, website, event-listing sites plus more however you are responsible for promoting your own individual shows.
7. In marketing for your show please include the words ‘Nottingham Comedy Festival’. Do not shorten this down. Our logo can be provided for marketing material.
8. We will be using an online ticket agency to sell tickets for shows. If you want to sell an allocation of tickets for your show yourself then we are happy for you to do so however please discuss with us so we don’t sell too many tickets.
9. Very often ticket sales pick up in the days leading up to the Festival and on the show day itself, including walk-ins. Because of this we ask you not to cancel your show for tickets sales reasons as this results in complaints from venues and customers and additional costs to your promoter.
10. No refunds will be given for cancelled shows.
11. If you cancel your show but find a replacement artist then please provide us with the relevant details as soon as possible. We will make sure changes are made on the Festival website. There is no additional cost for this.
12. If you are using music during your show the regulator requires that you provide us with the music information including: artist of music, song name, version and author/composer. This is for music used during your show, or walk on/off music. It does not include pre or after show music. Some venues may have their own PRS License however this is not valid for festival shows. Nottingham Comedy Festival will pay any PRS fees however failure to notify the Festival in advance of music will make the artist liable for any fees or penalties.
13. If you are using music as part of your show then we will send you the PRS form to complete in advance of your show,  PRS ask for this to be completed before your performance. If you do not know what music you will be using then please inform us of this and ensure you complete the form within 2 weeks of the performance.
14. Insurance is the responsibility of each individual venue/promoter.
15. Shows will be listed on the website once the entry fee has been received.

We hope you have a fantastic Festival. We will be on hand to offer advice and suggestions so feel free to get in touch.
