Since the festival began in 2009 we have been supported by the local brewery CASTLE ROCK.
Castle Rock is a brewery and pub group based in Nottingham. They’ve been running pubs since 1977 and brewing beer since 1998. They’re passionate about bringing tradition and innovation together. One week you’ll find them brewing a traditional bitter, and the next concocting a juicy, hoppy session IPA or an ice cream beer. Castle Rock pubs are unique venues, from traditional countryside boozers to city centre craft havens, and everything in between. But the main aim remains the same in every venue: to create a friendly, welcoming pub and serve high quality beer.
Having won Champion Beer of Britain in 2010 for their staple beer Harvest Pale – and with many national and local awards won previously and since – Castle Rock is held in high esteem in a dynamic and thriving industry. Following this award, they expanded the brewery and are now the largest in Nottingham. That said, their roots are very humble, and they love more than anything to be part of the community.
Fourteen years ago, Castle Rock decided to back the Nottingham Comedy Festival by becoming its main sponsors, and they’re still here supporting us today. This year, you’ll find NCF shows in the Canalhouse (home to the Canalhouse Comedy Nights). The Embankment (home to RockCentral Comedy Club) and The Barley Twist (home to Basement Craics Comedy Nights).
